R to @BeataSzydlo: There was dismay among Brussels officials in response to the victory of Geert Wilders' party in the Dutch elections. Well, Brussels is reaping what it sowed. Resistance to the extreme regulations introduced under the plan (a plan promoted, incidentally, by Frans Timmermans, who returned to the Netherlands to fight for the PM's seat) had been growing among the Dutch for a long time.

The biggest loser was the party of the current head of government Mark Rutte, who wanted to please Brussels in every way possible.

The Dutch elections show that the actions of Brussels - actions carried out that harm the people in the EU Member States - are generating an increase in resistance.

We can expect that the forthcoming elections to the European Parliament will seriously change the balance of power in Brussels. That is what the left-liberal radicals fear - and explains their rush to change the European Treaties as soon as possible.
