3/3 I helped the school children with the planting of a fruit tree.
Trees are important in providing shade, nutrition and helping to mitigate the impact of climate change.
2/3 But fees are not the only barriers to education.
I’ve also seen how #UKAid support on sanitation, nutrition and sexual & reproduction health is making it easier for all children - but especially teenage girls - to continue their education.
1/3 Access to #education is vitally important in ensuring children are able to thrive and fill their potential. Today I’ve heard from pupils and teachers at Mulola school in Kapete District on how Zambia’s free school policy is increasing access to #education.

15 years ago @intlCrimCourt issued a warrant for Ali Kushayb. Today he stands trial in The Hague for alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes in Darfur. Impunity has plagued Sudan for too long. I hope this trial begins a wider process of accountability and reconciliation
