During a courtesy call with Mr Charles Deguara, Auditor General, and Mr Noel Camilleri, Deputy Auditor General, I was presented with a publication entitled ‘State Audit in Times of Transition, Reflections on Change and Continuity, Challenge and Opportunity from Malta and Beyond.’

This morning I presented the Letters of Credence to Malta’s Ambassador-Designate to the United States of America, Mr Godfrey C Xuereb, and augured him success in further advancing cooperation between the two countries on different levels of engagement.

At the end of my meeting with @JamesCleverly I was presented with a gift on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III. This is a photograph from Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II personal collection dating back to the years when she & Prince Philip lived in Malta (1949-1951).

The already excellent relations between the two countries should be further strengthened with the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement signed earlier today. We also discussed the role of the Commonwealth & the importance of multilateral cooperation between the UK & Malta.

On the occasion of the Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck, this morning Miriam and I attended the Solemn Pontifical Mass celebrated by Mgr Joseph Galea Curmi, Auxiliary Bishop, at the Collegiate Church of St Paul’s Shipwreck in Valletta. We wish all the Maltese people a happy feast.

Miriam and I had the pleasure of meeting a group of elderly people from the Day Centre, who visited Sant’Anton Palace this morning. We enjoyed hearing how these elderly people are staying involved in the community.
