I met the #Malta Association of #Retired #Police Officers & we agreed on the importance that the Police Force & the country in general continue to be grateful & inclusive towards those police officers who spent many years being of service to maintain national security.

I learned with great sadness the news of the death of Mgr Philip Calleja who dedicated his life to emigrants and refugees. Certainly his work within the @migrants_mt , of which he was Director for about 50 years, will be remembered. Condolences to his relatives and friends.

This morning, I was presented with a replica of the document signed by Charles V of Spain ceding Malta in fiefdom to the Order of the Knights of St John in 1530 and other historical documentation by the Asociación UNESCO Valencia – Mediterráneo, who are currently visiting Malta.

On the occasion of the Feast of Saint Dominic, the King’s Own #band kept up the #tradition of entering into Presidential Palace in Valletta to play the Maltese National Anthem during the morning #march. We wish a happy #feast to all those celebrating it.

"Ġużeppi Maria Caruana: 1899-1964" is the latest #publication on a Maltese artist whose contribution to the local art scene remains to date relatively unknown. I thank Mr Trevor Zahra for his efforts to fill this gap and for presenting a copy for Sant'Anton library.
