This morning I had the pleasure to receive a signed gear by the international tennis player Rafael Nadal presented as a donation for The Malta Community Chest Fund by the Maltese Ambassador to #Spain, H.E. Daniel Azzopardi.

During a courtesy call by Captain Anton Dimech from the Malta Yachting Friends, I was pleased to hear about the altruistic initiative by a small number of captains and sailors to collect donations for the MCCF, which expanded in a short time and grew into a strong group.

During a meeting with the #Mellieħa Local Council, I had the opportunity to better understand the social and infrastructural changes happening in this village. I truly appreciated their donation to The Malta Community Chest Fund and the community’s altruistic commitment.

I presented the Letters of Credence to Mr John Busuttil, who will shortly be taking up the post as the Ambassador of #Malta to #China. We recalled the excellent ties that exist between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations over fifty years ago.

During a courtesy call, the Committee of the Għaqda Mużikali San Girgor Ta’ Kerċem presented me with their book ‘L-Għaqda Mużikali San Girgor Ta’ Kerċem - Storja tal-Ewwel 25 Sena 1997 -2022’. The Committee also presented a donation for the Malta Community Chest Fund.

This morning I had the pleasure to receive Mr Mario Axiaq, who presented me his book ‘Jien u l-Esperjenzi ta’ Ħajti’. A publication that, through personal experience, reflects important local and international developments, mostly in football, broadcasting and music festivals.

Earlier today, I received a courtesy call by H.E. Jesmond Cutajar, Ambassador of #Malta to #Iceland. I welcomed prospects for increased commercial and cultural dialogue between Malta and Iceland, this year celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relations.

During a meeting with the President of the Thalidomide Survivors Malta, Mr Anatole Baldacchino, & researcher Mr Michael Debattista, I had the opportunity to hear in more detail about the research & permanent consequences that this medicine had on patients in the years 1957-1961.
