Today, we visited The Royal Marsden Hospital, where we had a meeting with Dr Mark Ethell, during which we discussed the treatment provided to Maltese patients. We also visited the intensive care facilities and a private ward for patients receiving treatment for blood cancers.

This afternoon, we visited the patients and their relatives currently staying in the apartments of the Puttinu Cares Foundation in Sutton while receiving treatment in the UK. The aim of our visit was to listen to them and offer them support during these difficult times.

With Mr Joseph Aquilina, Consultant, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, & Ms Caroline May, Divisional Director for Women’s Health, we discussed the treatment & services provided to women with pregnancy risks before & after giving birth.

This afternoon I received a courtesy visit by the Housing Authority who presented me with a donation to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. I underlined that without these donations, the MCCF would not have the funds necessary to meet the demands of the less fortunate.
