Together with the Soċjetà Mużikali San Lawrenz in #Vittoriosa, we celebrated the 100th anniversary since this society signed the procurement contract for Palazzo Huesca. I remarked on the #voluntary aspect that is still very strong in our #band clubs.

This morning, Miriam and I attended the Pontifical Concelebration of the Titular Feast of St George Megalomartyr, celebrated by the Bishop of Gozo Mons. Anton Teuma, at St George's Basilica in Victoria, #Gozo. We sincerely wish a happy feast to all those celebrating this feast.

Yesterday I inaugurated a monument in Sliema entitled ‘Lest We Forget’ commemorating the elderly who have suffered isolation, pain, or death during the #COVID-19 pandemic, as well as their resilient character in this challenging period. I thank the #MAGG for this initiative.

I met the Secretary General of the #Caritas Internationalis Mr Aloysius John currently visiting Malta. We discussed various challenges faced by humanity and agreed on the pivotal Christian values upon which Caritas is founded, providing hope and assistance to those most in need.

President Zoran Milanović adhered to the tradition of planting a tree in the private garden of Sant’Anton Palace, where he planted a Prunus Pissardi Nigra tree. He also had a meeting with President George Vella, who presented him with a commemorative stamp of the State Visit.

At the State Dinner, President George Vella stated that after the reciprocal state visits, #Malta and #Croatia continued to build on their shared interests. He also conveyed Malta's support to Croatia in fulfilling its goal to become a member of the Euro and Schengen zones.
