Earlier today I received a  courtesy call meeting by H.E. Natasha Meli-Daudey, Ambassador of Malta to the Federal Republic of #Austria. We exchanged views on challenges facing the Euro-Mediterranean region and agreed on the important role of promoting a diplomacy for peace.

I had an interesting meeting with HE Agnès von der Mühll, Ambassador of #France to Malta. We discussed the excellent relations between our two countries, & highlighted the pivotal role of strengthening multilateral diplomacy for the promotion of a more stable and peaceful future.

During a courtesy call by Mr Lawrence Buhagiar, Consul General of Malta in Sydney, Australia, we spoke about developments within the Maltese Community in New South Wales as well as initiatives that the Consulate General is taking to promote Malta in this region.

Today I had the pleasure to receive a courtesy visit by the Committee of the German-Maltese Circle, who this year is celebrating its 60th Anniversary from its inception.

This morning, Miriam and I attended a service of thanksgiving for the life of Queen Elizabeth II organised by the Anglican Chaplaincy of Malta and Gozo at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral.

Miriam & I attended the National Dementia Awards. We talked about the cruelty of dementia & thanked the relatives, professionals & NGOs working with a lot of dedication and sacrifices. Expressed the hope that experts will find why the number of people with dementia is increasing.

During the launch of the book “Eddie - is-sewwa jirbaħ żgur” written by Dione Borg, I reflected on the fact that Dr Eddie Fenech Adami believed that by taking an active role in politics, he could help improve the quality of life in our country.

Miriam and I visited Best Print Co. Ltd., where the book 𝗧𝗶𝘀𝗷𝗶𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹-𝗤𝗮𝗹𝗯 is being printed. 13 chefs are presenting 73 traditional Maltese recipes - all made from fresh local produce. We would like to sincerely thank all those who contributed to this year’s edition.

I had the pleasure to receive a courtesy call from a delegation from the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People. The delegation gave me an overview of the work presently being carried out by the Committee and their future plans.

Today I received a courtesy call from Mr Steven Mallia, who presented me with his book entitled ‘The History of Water Conservation on the Maltese Islands’. The book takes into account the numerous reservoirs that were excavated during the Knights of John and the British periods.

This morning we launched the 19th edition of the l-Istrina #BOVPiggyBank Campaign in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund. This campaign fosters a great sense of solidarity, unity and love for the environment in children. (cont.)

Relations between Malta and #Türkiye have always been strong and based on friendship and mutual respect. Yesterday, we celebrated the 99th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye & the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of our bilateral diplomatic relations.

We discussed current global challenges such as food shortages, energy security and the impact of climate change.  During this meeting I reiterated my condemnation of the war in Ukraine and urged China to exert its influence globally in the interest of peace and stability.
