Yesterday Miriam and I joined the #Lija community for the annual concert of the Feast of our Saviour, organised by the Soċjetà Mużikali San Pio X. Such occasions reflect the great contribution made by #band clubs in our cities and villages.

As our last engagement in London, we visited the Franciscan Sisters hosting Maltese patients who are receiving treatment in #London and their relatives. It is always a pleasure for us to meet the Franciscan Sisters, who are doing such great work with the patients.

This morning, we visited Maltese #patients and their relatives residing in the apartments of the Puttinu Cares Foundation in #Sutton while receiving treatment in the UK. We spoke to them and heard about their hardships in this difficult period of their lives.

Our engagements in the UK continued in #Oxford, where we visited The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and The Botnar Institute for Musculoskeletal Sciences. I thanked the administration and the #doctors for attending Maltese #patients needing specialised care.

Our engagements in #Birmingham came to an end this morning with an interesting meeting with the Mayor of Birmingham, Cllr Maureen Cornish. Among other things, we spoke about the ongoing @birminghamcg22 and their legacy.

It was a pleasure to meet H.R.H. Prince Charles, as well as H.E. Wiliame Katonivere, the President of Fiji, and Baroness Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, before the #CommonwealthGames2022 opening ceremony.

I had an interesting meeting with a group of youths from Libya who form part of the Youth Dialogue Forum, during which we talked about the future of #Libya. I wish them every success and that they continue to promote unity, democracy & the participation of youths in public life.

Yesterday evening we attended the production 'The Merry Wives of Windsor (Terrace)' performed by the #MADC theatre company at Sant'Anton Gardens. We sincerely thank the Chairman of the MADC, Mr Martin Azzopardi, for the donation to The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

I met Andrew Alamango & his team from Magna Zmien. I commended their work in preserving popular #history through the digitisation of #Malta’s audio-visual heritage. Thanks to them, future generations will have the possibility to appreciate more the aspects of our culture.

Last April, the Local Council of Santa Lucija, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute, the Chinese Community Cultural Centre & the Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine, organised the Spring Festival Temple Fair and donated the proceeds from the event to the #MCCFF.
