Government incredibly votes against a two word amendment to their amendment saying "by Israel."
Now their motion just says, after condemning Hamas, "also condemns the killing of children and civilians" but fails to mention who is doing the killing!
They are spineless.

Dail outrageously passes counter motion on Palestine which refuses to take any action against Israel.
No sanctions, no inspections of US aircraft in Shannon, no action on genocide.

There's a deep contradiction in govt argument for dropping triple lock. They say they only operate within the UN Charter.
There are two legitimate uses of force under the UN Charter:
1. Self-defence - currently permitted w/o triple lock.
2. Authorisation of UN Security Council.

That doesn't make any sense.

We need a movement to demand that any attempt to removed the triple lock is put to the people in a referendum.
They have no mandate for this undermining of neutrality.

Scrapping the triple lock means any government could send Irish troops to fight in whatever wars abroad they want.
Without the triple lock, on top of allowing US military to use Shannon, Irish troops could have been sent to fight and die in the US invasion of Iraq.
