Someone walking past praying would be unaffected.

@mdfarnie @j_bambrick @MaryMargOlohan No, they aren't prayer free, but they are small areas that are protest free. They were introduced due to the harassment of staff and patients attending clinics. Now, the immediate frontage is kept clear, but people can still protest (and pray) at a short distance.

The exclusion zones were introduced to combat harassment of staff and patients.

Whether you are praying or not isn't the issue.

@Billy74282082 @News_Letter There is a Sentencing Bill drafted for the new mandate: however, the issue isn't always about the lack of appropriate sentencing options (usually based on a maximum term).

The sentence will be set independently by the judge who has sole discretion over the sentencing decision.

As I understand it, she was not arrested for praying but for doing so within the exclusion zone.

She can pray anywhere else she wishes, and it will have no more or less impact than doing so where such protest isn't permitted.
