The Govt is directing how the payment will happen in the absence of an Executive.

The actual decisions to pay this were taken by them back in Feb and Oct/Nov.

Today is announcing when payments will start to be implemented.

@maireKelly20 @impongo22 We still don't know when the final payments will be made: we do know that I raised the concerns of the energy suppliers with the PM and SOS that this could take 6 mths to roll out. Seems like the plans have been adjusted since. Still means the most in need have a longer wait...

If we'd had an Executive since February, you'd have at least £200 already and maybe the whole payment.

The problem here isn't me raising the projected delay with SOS to get it fixed.

@impongo22 Daft take, Gary. I said they would start to roll out the payments in January (confirmed today), but the companies said it may take until June to complete. You'll note that there's no end date in today's announcement nor any clarity on how PAYG users get paid. Read more carefully.
