I'm also discussing what might happen if they don't. It shouldn't be a surprise: Paisley said it in 2007, Foster also said it and Doug Beattie has raised it recently.
@DownOrangeMan @allianceparty @BBCgmu The AERC Committee and a vote on a motion we tabled back in 2021 suggest a majority do.
There should be no need for a referendum on our modest reforms any more than there was for those agreed at St Andrews, or deals at Stormont House or NDNA.

What should happen is the DUP should get back to work and stop blocking progress.
What might happen if they don't was acknowledged in 2007 by Dr Paisley, again by Arlene Foster and more recently Doug Beattie.

@Scottyb531 We support getting Stormont restored and support devolution. We aren't looking to a Plan B.
That will be for the Government to decide, unless local MLAs get their act together. We'll have no say in what arrangements they put in place.

Secondly, I cannot direct the police on operational matters.

That's not how I operate. It's not who I am.
@wheelpump @Irishbaldy2 Anyone with an ounce of wit or integrity knows I have not only persistently and consistently called for robust action against loyalist paramilitaries, but that I have done so in the face of death threats, attacks and intimidation.

The SoS has stated he will call one on Friday. He also strongly hinted at the 15th December as the date by ruling out the 8th.
