@RichardBullick1 @NewtonEmerson @trussliz Also, I'm not convinced the UKG are actually that concerned about the impact their actions have in NI or what our actual concerns are: they are mainly using the protocol for internal positioning in the Tory Party and external messaging to a largely English, Brexiter audience.
@RichardBullick1 @NewtonEmerson @trussliz I think the challenge is two-fold: you can't set aside the means because they dictate the likely success of the outcome and we did try this before but as some would only countenance scrapping the protocol, any agreement of pragmatic solutions to the practicalities was stymied.
