@JMG745 @BelfastBre @subjugatedsuzi @AmandaFBelfast Alex Maskey is the Speaker and remains in post until the new MLAs sign the roll. Then we must elect a new Speaker.
So, Jeffrey can remain an MP by resigning as MLA, Alex can do all the admin, Emma will then sign in, and the DUP can refuse to elect a replacement Speaker.

@GarethJ65485493 @EoinTennyson @allianceparty Yep. A contractor is working their way across NI. Most are gone, but it'll be a day or two yet to get the last ones. Thankfully, we have time left to do so within the deadline.

I just want a government formed at this point. At the very least we ought to have an Assembly tomorrow.
If the current structures let the DUP block that, then those structures need to change.
@labours_a @Beast_Mode_No1 @columeastwood That changed at St Andrew's at the DUP's request. They used it as a way to pressure people to vote DUP to make it the largest party thus squeezing the UUP.
Having done so, it's only fair that SF gets to hold the post having won the election on that basis IMO.

End to designations, any party free to opt out of government without blocking government formation, an end to parallel consent (replaced with weighted majority), and our votes being equal in value to other MLAs.
