Designations affect voting: in those cases where parallel consent is used, we would introduce weighted majority voting - that incentivises cooperation rather than reinforcing vetoes.

If any party doesn't want to be in government, they should be free to opt out (that includes either of the largest parties)

@BLifeof9 @allianceparty Yes, it's in our manifesto and would have been done in this mandate, but the DUP blocked my last bill, meant to be a Miscellaneous Provisions Bill, until I reduced the scope, to prevent any 'controversial' amendments, including MACR and ending the reasonable hastisement defence.
@jamiemathis01 @allianceparty She might still be working on a reply - we get a lot of emails so it can take a few days. If it's urgent, drop her a wee reminder.
