@MckeeverJosie @allianceparty I did not. I voted that those who needed a termination should have access to one which is free, safe and legal. I also support those who decide not to have a termination, having every available care an support, up to and beyond birth.
You are actually deflecting from that issue.
@gayle_mccreanor @allianceparty For many women it isn't just about not wanting a baby: for some the trauma of pregnancy or childbirth is an issue. And it's not just as simple as giving up a baby either if there's no prospect of life beyond the womb. Best leave such choices to those who have to live with them.
@gayle_mccreanor @gl84_rachel @allianceparty It's not my opinion that any group would be better off dead. Abortion is never compulsory: it's a choice.
Neither you nor I know the circumstances in which people are pregnant or why they can't proceed.
So, it's right that it isn't my decision or yours, but theirs.
@PeterB2021 @gayle_mccreanor @allianceparty It's not used easily nor is it a decision taken lightly by those who make that choice.
Neither you nor I can every fully know the circumstances in which someone finds themselves pregnant or their reason for not proceeding to full-term. Best let those who do make the decision.
@ElaineYoung94 I agree. My friend's son has profound disabilities from birth and can't communicate other than by moving his eyes.
When he turned 18 they wanted him to attend for a fitness to work interview. It's just demeaning and distressing for families and a total waste of resources.
@nofkngd @JohnODowdSF @JulieACorr @BeattieDoug I would love to see them either banned or limited to the area immediately round polling stations; however, that's not really the issue here.
They are legal and as long as that's the case, no-one should be interfering with them. If they had no impact, people wouldn't bother.
@gayle_mccreanor @allianceparty No-one should be forced or coerced to terminate for any reason: anyone who decides to proceed with their pregnancy should have the best possible care and support, not just up to birth but beyond it.
That is what I support.
@gayle_mccreanor I support a woman's right to choose: that's not @allianceparty policy, it's a matter of conscience.
However, if we want to reduce demand for terminations, which I do, the best way is by providing every possible support throughout life, not simply forcing people to give birth.
@cliff_moffett @CllrMichaelLong @EoinTennyson @allianceparty Except:
1. It isn't true - the meme is nonsense.
2. It isn't relevant - what matters is what we voted FOR, not who we voted WITH.
So not really blowing anything out of the water there, except your theory...
@ramsaigh @maureenspence1 @allianceparty I've said clearly what I support. People have many reasons why they may feel unable to continue a pregnancy. That's between them and their doctor.
They should never have to fear that there's inadequate support for them to raise their child: that's why this is so important.
@Tracey1Bell @allianceparty No-one should be forced or coerced to terminate for any reason: anyone who decides to proceed with their pregnancy should have the best possible care and support, not just up to birth but beyond it.
That is what I support.

@counting_by @allianceparty Because we were specifically asked to do so before the election by campaigners for families.

RT @CllrMichaelLong: Great afternoon in Lurgan helping @EoinTennyson in Upper Bann.
Lurgan was the 1st place I worked in practice 25 years ago during the 1st Drumcree crisis when tensions were so high.
Now we can elect the 1st cross community MLA in Upper Bann ever!
Change is coming. #TogetherWeCan
@_PaddyDoherty_ @allianceparty @duponline @J_Donaldson_MP Alliance is committed to a full, trans-inclusive ban on conversion therapy and have spoken out on this many times. @StephenFarryMP continues to support that in Westminster, whilst our Assembly candidates are committed to the same here.

RT @EoinTennyson: No LGBTQ+ person should be told that they are in need of a “cure”. Conversion therapy is tortu…
@counting_by @allianceparty Because parties were asked to publicly pledge support? We didn't produce the Pledge cards, charities did and asked us to post them on social media.
Attacking us for agreeing to is what reeks of desperation.
Our @AllianceParty candidates have pledged to support #FamiliesWithUpsandDowns and the campaign for fair access to DLA, without constant reassessment, with better training for assessors and smooth transition to PIP for young people with Downs.

@DeliverAE22 @cllr_petermcrey Thank you for the message. As candidates Peter and I are both pledged to support #FamiliesWithUpsandDowns campaign for fair access to DLA without constant reassessment, better training for assessors and smooth transition to PIP for young people with Downs.
