So far it's only Alliance’s political views that I'm seeing being mocked, ridiculed and derided in these exchanges.

We didn't stand either as nationalist or unionist: people from both backgrounds and neither understood that and voted for us inspite/because of that.

We also don't have to attend every event to continue to participate in appropriate conversations about our future in these islands.

Leo was also not the only person booed: others were booed for raising issues around symbols, E/W cooperation and so on.

We conveyed our view to the organisers and, whilst they took a different view, they understood our position.

That is to neither denigrate the organisers nor those who did attend.

We declined the invite and raised our reasons politely (and privately) with IF. And we confirmed that we'll continue to engage about the future of these islands in future.

People understand our position well: they may of course disagree with it or even seek to misrepresent it. But they do understand it.
