@border_mexican @SeamasBelfast I can tell you succinctly: I cannot direct the police, judiciary or PPS in operational matters nor can I comment on or interfere in individual cases/decisions.
If you have time for a long interview, I could outline not just what I can do but what I have done as Minister.
@SeamasBelfast The granting of bail to individuals is a matter solely for the judiciary. The rationale for when bail or remand is appropriate is clear but a matter of judicial discretion.

And I can comment on matters of policy.
@SeamasBelfast As you are well aware, decisions on bail and remand rest solely with the independent judiciary.
Furthermore, as Minister, I am bound to respect their independence and cannot comment on individual decisions or cases.
Suggesting otherwise is disingenuous at best.
