What the census shows is that we are all minorities now.
Our priority remains building a more shared and integrated community which embraces that diversity as a positive, rather than trying to force people back into the trenches.
@CmacB22 @duponline There's still a significant amount of money held centrally which can't be redistributed and that could increase again after the mini budget this week. Departments are facing inescapable pressures - but are mainly having to absorb them internally by stopping/slowing delivery.
@CmacB22 @duponline As far as we have been notified, there was £435M held centrally, some of which was Barnett consequentials of energy interventions announced in the Spring. The rest was from a range of other sources.
If HMG delivers that package, they'll take that cash back, reducing the amount.>

Everything after that point was just the consequences of that error in judgement.

@CBni_ I'm not adding fuel to the fire: I'm expressing an opinion.
I'm also committed to trying to overcome the damage others have done to politics here and get the institutions up and running so we can tackle those bigger issues.
It isn't either/or.

@Cheesewright3 The only "mindset" on display is yours. Capital U for political Unionism is pretty well established.
Also, I was including the weak campaign of the UUP at the time and the TUV, so Unionism was more accurate than DUP.
Not unionists, though, however hard you try to twist it.

My job is rather dependent on me having political views. It goes with the territory of being a politician.

@_Jason94 @Cheesewright3 The UUP had plenty of vocal anti-EU, pro-Brexit campaigners, too. It was a free vote I think, though they were nominally remain.
This wasn't just about the DUP, it was much wider than that. There was a political failure to see the impact Brexit would have on the Union.
@Cheesewright3 I said Unionists (capitalised) in a Tweet (limited characters).
The UUP failed, too: prominent members were arch-Brexiteers, not just DUPers.
Given the significant number of small 'u' unionists who vote Alliance, I clearly don't see all unionists as the same.

@Cheesewright3 @scullionoflarne I didn't say all unionists. I used capital U to denote political Unionism, which by action and inaction contributed significantly to the Brexit mess.
@Cheesewright3 Wraparound ads in Metro paid for by DUP had no impact on GB voting?
Their active pursuit of the hardest possible Brexit when their MPs held the balance in Westminster didn't make it worse?
They were pivotal in creating this mess: I didn't say they acted alone.
