@jsewellmcevoy @Grace13879684 That's not true. I can comment on the law and process; can enact new legislation and procedures; and I have done over the last 2 years.
However, I can't intervene in individual cases; direct the police, courts or judiciary; or comment on their operational decisions/judgements.
@Grace13879684 It is the Secretary of State on the advice of the Coroner who will see all of the information and hear representations from both the PSNI legal team and the family's solicitors.
As this is part of the coronial process, I can't comment on the details. 1/2

@AnneMurr4 A PII certificate can cover anything from small redactions to full pages of information. I have said that if the PII is granted, the nature of any information removed should be made public so that the people can have transparency about why.

The PII process is a judicial one - the police application is heard by the coroner and the family have legal representation. The final decision is made by the Secretary of State.
As it's a judicial process, I can't comment on it, I'm afraid.
