⚕️We have around 30 million people living with rare diseases, in Europe alone. This is a major health subject that must be dealt with as a priority by lawmakers and all key stakeholders.
One way to address this is by ensuring that there is enough public support to research and innovation activities, to complement and compensate for any flaws in the efforts being made by the private sector.
Sharing medical information, case studies, and the results of research and innovation activities done by public institutions will benefit the prevention and treatment of all diseases.

We explored the intersection of innovation, finance, and sustainable development, aiming to align businesses with the Green Deal objectives. 🇬🇧🇪🇺The cooperation between the UK and the European Union in Research and Innovation is back on track! 🔬🔭
The UK was the biggest participant in the Horizon Europe programs, and the notion that the alliance could be broken suddenly was something that I could not admit. The consequences for European science would be too disastrous to imagine. So I´m delighted that the UK will join Horizon Europe and Copernicus programs.
Without research, innovation, and education, we will not win the war on climate change. We will not protect biodiversity. We will not defeat diseases that claim millions of lives yearly. We will not find the solutions needed to sustain an increasing human population without depleting the resources of our land.
Despite Brexit, we chose to walk side by side. And I feel much more confident and comfortable facing this journey in the company of the United Kingdom.

Com muita satisfação recebi 21 estudantes oriundos das Universidades de Aveiro e dos Açores, no Parlamento Europeu. Na primeira sessão foi-lhes explicado o funcionamento das Instituições Europeias, assim como o meu trabalho enquanto Eurodeputada.

Hoje, assinalamos os 43 anos da morte de Francisco Sá Carneiro, na noite de 4 de Dezembro de 1983. Evocamos a sua tenacidade, a sua coragem e o seu sentido de Estado. Na sua curta mas intensa vida política, dedicou-se à construção do Portugal democrático em que vivemos. Hoje, mais do que nunca, é essencial relembrar o legado de Francisco Sá Carneiro e o que este representa para Portugal.
