The recent debate on agriculture emission ceilings, & the failure of gov to outline how they will be met, shows importance of getting CAP right. But, Minister has refused to engage with opposition on a plan that will have implications for a generation. https://www.farmersjournal.ie/sinn-fein-demands-publication-of-updated-cap-plan-713737

AIB have reversed proposals to remove cash services from 70 towns.
Well done to those community voices that spoke up & forced rethink -it’s time for government to set out a strategy for the future of banking services, led by needs of people, not corporate profits.
RT @sinnfeinireland: “We’ve heard from the Dept that they will find a number that they can politically get through cabinet without a single notion as to how it can be reached.” SF Agriculture spokesperson @mattcarthy challenges lack of clarity as to how sectoral emissions targets will be met.

Government are doing farmers, Climate Action & society a diservice by their failure to plan
For a century, FF & FG considered the emigration of our young people to be the safety value for their economic and political failures - now we have a leader of the opposition committed to getting those (who want to) home.
This is what change looks like ✊
RT @sinnfeinireland: "To those young Irish people in Australia who want to come home: I want you to know that we are working hard to change things for you, that we WILL change thing…
I have contacted AIB and will be urging them to reconsider the matter. I will also be contacting the Minister for Finance requesting government intervention - they cannot continue to sit back while services are removed from local rural communities! 2/2
Crazy!
AIB, a bank that was bailed out by Irish taxpayers to the tune of €3.5BILLION, have announced that they are removing cash services from 70 branches (including Carrickmacross & Castleblayney in Co Monaghan). 1/2
