Humanity is what we ask for, the UK used to have values, now we are left with inhumane, xenophobic and despicable policies towards refugees.
If not Independence then what?

@Peteonone @Corrupttotheco2 I see, it’s a french problem that this UK government has closed all the safe routes for asylum seekers to reach the UK.
Far from turning a blind eye, they patrol and patrol at great cost and are asking the UK government to fulfil its international obligations towards refugees.

We made it clear that in an Independent Scotland we will respect asylum seekers and refugees as the UK used to and in accordance with international law as per Michael Bond’s wishes:

Even if they are genuine refugees, they won’t be sent back to the UK.
This isn’t looking after refugees, it is to deport them, the contrary of what Michael Bond is asking us to do.

The french authorities ask them all to seek asylum when they come, a few refuse and prefer to move on.
France welcomed 407,923 refugees in 2019, the UK 133,094.

Asylum seekers have the right to choose where they claim asylum, they can’t be forced to claim asylum in a country they don’t want to claim asylum from.
