Today, I have announced the UK Government will commission abortion services in Northern Ireland, following continued inaction from @healthdpt. For too long, women and girls of Northern Ireland have been denied access to basic healthcare.

We need a leader with a proven track record of delivery, the resilience to lead our country, a mandate from the British people and the ability to defeat Keir Starmer.
That’s why I’m backing @BorisJohnson to finish the job he started in 2019.
The legislation is clear - if the Executive does not reform by 28 October, I will call an election.
Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Baroness May Blood. She was a hugely influential figure in promoting peace and reconciliation in NI as well as a tremendous advocate for the provision of integrated education. She leaves an indelible legacy for future generations.
A city rich in its history, art and culture - it was a pleasure to view Derry-Londonderry at its best from the vantage point of the iconic city walls. Thank you to city centre manager, Jim Roddy @CCIDERRY, for the welcome and informative tour.

A privilege to visit the city’s @nerve_centre to learn more about the creative media arts sector and the innovative projects which are helping NI attract global attention in the field. Through education, this wonderful project is also fostering stronger community relations. (2/3)
I was delighted to visit Derry-Londonderry yesterday and personally thank @NIAS & @NIFRSOFFICIAL personnel who provided assistance to colleagues in Donegal throughout the recent Creeslough tragedy. We owe an immense debt of gratitude to all of our emergency services.

Northern Ireland's food and drink industry employs over 20,000 people and plays a vital role in its economy.
Grateful for members taking time to discuss some of the challenges & opportunities facing their sector.
I urge the parties to come together and govern in the best interests of the people of Northern Ireland because a strong, functioning Executive is central to delivering a prosperous future.

Thank you to @niveteranscomm Danny Kinahan for a constructive discussion on the important advocacy work of the office and wider veterans’ matters in Northern Ireland, including legacy.
Minister @simoncoveney and I agree that the best outcome for Northern Ireland is for the Parties to restore the Executive and avoid a winter election.
But, if no Executive is formed by 28th October, I am required by law to call one.
I have been very clear. If the parties in Northern Ireland do not re-form an Executive by 28 October, I will call an election.
