An Executive can no longer form and I am duty-bound by law to call new elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly as set out in the New Decade, New Approach agreement as soon as practically possible and within 12 weeks.

I really enjoyed visiting Belfast’s first ever Black History Expo today, hosted by @JoinHerNetwork. A privilege to meet businesses, community and public sector organisations working together to celebrate Northern Ireland’s diversity and promote inclusion.
My priority is for NI's political leaders to come together and restore the Executive.
The people of Northern Ireland deserve a fully-functioning devolved government so I understand the public’s frustration.
However, if the parties will not re-form, I will call an election.
