@andrew10612 It doesn't. But it does mean energy companies are not driven by the need to reward shareholders and pay million pound CEO packages. Price rises can be capped (look at France) in exceptional times. And people aren't profiting from ordinary people paying for basic utilities

Useful thread about how plan proposed by Scottish Power and others will not save failed privatised electricity companies, or the economy, or many households, or businesses, but will give a £100 billion bung to these companies despite that. Time to renationalise
