@BrandonLewis Presumably the Bill represents the bare minimum HMG believes to be required in order to rectify the Protocol? Presumably all it contains is essential? So there cannot be compromise in HMG’s position?
If so, what is it that you wish to negotiate?
Exactly right. If we wish to deter illegal migrants, at the very least stop providing a free taxi service to our shores!
There is only one solution to this problem. Robust border management.
RT @Iromg: Any chance the #BorderForce and #Police could go on strike and stop helping illegal landings on our shores? #Migrants
“Patience is running thin in London with the DUP”
Really?
Well, patience has run out with @BorisJohnson
Unionists have been incredibly patient. @duponline will not restore Stormont until Northern Ireland is restored. https://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/politics/patience-is-running-thin-in-london-with-the-dup-over-a-return-to-stormont-3733489
For your info: the Trade & Cooperation Agreement @BorisJohnson and @DavidGHFrost signed with the EU commits the UK to the ECHR.
We cannot just leave without being also prepared for a bust up with the EU.
Worth noting!
RT @GBNEWS: ‘For Brexit to be complete, we’ve got to be free of the European Convention on Human Rights.’
@nigel_farage gives his take on the inaugural Rwanda migrant flight being stopped by an ECHR ruling.
RT @irishborderpoll: Now all set for the big debate.
The Union or a United Ireland?

@MichaelWCurzon @B_HQ @bowgroup @JonMarcStanley @Daily_Express ECHR is part of the Brexit deal though. We signed up to staying in it as part of the TCA
RT @BelindadeLucy: So the EU threatens a border in NI/I and a trade war if the UK doesn’t come to heel and submit to its rule. They make the case for Brexit every day. I’ll never stop thanking the 17.4million.

@HobdellTerry @liamnorris1001 @BorisJohnson Because his deal committed us to the ECHR. That is not getting brexit done.
@liamnorris1001 Nope, your not knowing the finer detail before shooting your mouth off is incompetent.
@liamnorris1001 @BorisJohnson You are aware aren’t you that in the deal we did with the EU, we committed to remaining in the ECHR?

@AnneMar45451941 High time
RT @MartinDaubney: In 2019, switched-on Brexiteers saw through “oven-ready” guff & stated Boris’s BRINO failed on 3 key points: fishing, NI & continued rule of ECHR law
The grounding of Rwanda flights, continued NI tensions & the decimation of fishing shows we were right

@SirJJQC Jonathan read clause 26. Only clauses 21 to 26 are operative.
All the “meat”, by which you are heartened, is a red herring.
The operative provisions will require further acts of Parliament to get anything done.
This Bill is a marketing document. Nothing more.
@BrugesGroup We are committed to its membership in the TCA. Ask @BorisJohnson and @DavidGHFrost
@a4_m4evr @BorisJohnson It wasn’t until we signed the Trade and Cooperation Agreement. Now we are committed to the ECHR by international treaty. Do you homework.
So @BorisJohnson how come a European Court interfered in our sovereign right to deport illegal immigrants? Brexit done?
Net result of the Rwandan scheme:
Rwanda up £120 m; British tax payers down £120 million. Illegal immigrants undeterred.
RT @TalkTV: The first deportation flight to Rwanda will no longer take off after a series of successful last minute legal challenges.
Former MEP Ben Habib: "We paid £120million up front to Rwanda."
