Jälgisin täna varahommikul valimisjaoskonna avamist Nairobis. Inimesed ootasid tunde ehk sisuliselt suure osa ööst, et valima minna. Jaoskonna avamine viibis poolteist tundi ja see tekitas teatavat elevust. Täna jälgin päeva jooksul Keenia valimiste kulgu.
Saabusin Keeniasse ELi valimisvaatlusmissioonile. Selle riigi valimistel on mõju ka laiemale Ida-Aafrikale.
Euroopa Liit peab tähelepanu sellele piirkonnale suurendama, et autoritaarsete režiimide mõjuväli ei laieneks.
Eestis on loodusemonumente, mille hoidmine on tegelikult midagi väärt. Neis puudub ambitsioon kellelegi kohta kätte näidata, rääkimata vägivalla ja vaenu ülistamisest.
Eestisse sobivad sellised loodusemonumendid.

Saatsime kolleegidega pöördumise Euroopa Ülemkogu eesistujale, et ELi välisasjade nõukogu viiks 18. juuli kohtumisel lõpule seitsmenda Venemaa-vastase sanktsioonide paketi ja täidaks senised lüngad. Euroopas ei ole kohta sõjaväsimusele. Ukraina peab võitma.
