Every time I see posties out and about they are rushed off their feet - they work tirelessly in the best spirit of public service.

Today I spent time listening to shopworkers in Melton.
High street businesses are frustrated and concerned about shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and abuse towards their staff.
It makes me angry and sad to hear what people trying to make a living are having to put up with.

Yesterday the Government announced the Police funding settlement.
Unsurprisingly, it falls way short of what is needed.
📉Under the Conservatives police spending here in Leicestershire cut by £38 MILLION since 2011.

Just not good enough.
In a previous role I worked on policy submissions for the National Disability Strategy - it’s clear to drive inclusion and equality a dedicated Minister is needed to co-ordinate across Government.
