This war will not go on another year. It will end when the Ukrainians are not prepared to accept more death. The Russians don’t care about their own. The question will be on what terms. The Biden administration had better start thinking about that scenario.
While it might appear that the anti-Ukraine wing of the GOP are in the ascendant they will turn on Joe Biden opportunistically if those terms mean any kind of surrender. Donald Trump remember does not do consistently. Also remember that

I feel pessimistic now about Ukraine getting all their aims. I believe too many will die and they may have to negotiate from a weaker position. That will mean the annexed territories?
This depends on the GOP. Among others.
The worst case scenario is a re-invasion.
There is no point in avoiding these risks.
