Typical gross margin on beer - 50%
Likely energy cost increase - £5000/month
So to cover, turnover must increase by £120,000 or 24%
If beer is £5/pint - would need to be £6.20.

It's great our new PM recognises that the real drivers of growth in the UK are small, hard-working businesses up and down the country and not the huge multinationals who have no loyalty to the UK.

Fixing wholesale energy prices for consumers and paying the balance to the industry is one way to handle the current crisis.
We should not bail out biz in this way. What happens to those who already fixed high prices on long term contracts in recent weeks. They'd be big losers!

Without taxpayer, windfarms could never have set up. We've funded their development & subsidized operations. They sell wind-power at market price of gas. It's bonkers!
Windfarms should be forced to sell to UK consumers at cost plus small margin - or else return subsidies.
