During the pledging event today, co-hosted by the @UN & the Netherlands, a significant amount of money was raised to resolve this threat. However, more is needed. Over the coming weeks, the Netherlands will continue to support the UN and appeal to other states to contribute. 2/2

The #FSOSafer tanker off the coast of Yemen can leak oil at any moment. The damage this would cause is unimaginable. There is a concrete plan by the @UN to prevent this from happening, which requires funding. The Netherlands pledges €7.5 million to this. 1/2

De olietanker #FSOSafer voor de kust van Jemen kan elk moment olie gaan lekken. De schade voor mens en milieu zou enorm zijn. Er is een concreet plan van de VN om dit te voorkomen, maar geld is nodig. Vandaag maakte ik bekend dat Nederland hiervoor €7,5 miljoen uittrekt. 1/2

The suffering inflicted on Yezidis by ISIS is unimaginable. I spoke to Yezidi women who have been living in a refugee camp for several years. Their stories are heartbreaking. The crimes committed against the Yezidi community by ISIS cannot remain unpunished. 1/3
