I met with my British colleague @KemiBadenoch to discuss the close trade relationship between 🇳🇱 and 🇬🇧 and how we can strengthen it further.

The bank plays an active role in the reconstruction of #Ukraine and provides loans to 🇺🇦 companies, allowing them to contribute to the reconstruction together with 🇳🇱 partners. Private investment is essential in Ukraine's recovery.

I spoke to @DavidMalpassWBG about the World Bank's financial support to #Ukraine and what they could do to address the country‘s most pressing needs this winter. We also talked about the upcoming @COP27. NL expects the @WorldBank to play a leading role in battling climate change.

Met de winter in aantocht worden de problemen voor de Oekraïners alleen maar groter. Huizen, waterleidingen & verwarmingen moeten dringend worden gerepareerd. Bij de Wereldbank aangekondigd dat ik namens NL alvast € 70 miljoen ter beschikking stel, speciaal voor deze winter.

🇳🇱 steunt het 🇩🇪 initiatief voor #GlobalShield: een vangnet bij klimaatrampen. Zoals een verzekering voor boeren om nieuwe zaden te kopen als door droogte de oogst mislukt.

Today during #UNGA, the Netherlands co-hosted an event for the #FSOSafer oil tanker. Thanks to the support of 🇳🇱 and others, the first phase of the UN-led salvage operation can soon begin.

Swift action is much needed as the Safer could start leaking at any time.

In Yemen, I announced an additional €7.5 million on behalf of the Netherlands for the dismantling of the #FSOSAFER oil tanker. With this contribution, we have now reached the amount needed to start the salvage operation and we can prevent a severe disaster from happening. 1/2
