In my speech at the @WorldBank I strongly condemned the unacceptable Russian aggression (the Netherlands also represents Ukraine at the World Bank). When Russia’s turn came to speak we as European governors (and also the G7) left the room.

We discussed what the Netherlands has to offer, responsible business conduct and reforming @wto. Also spoke about the potential harm of protectionism for trade opportunities.

Indrukwekkende toespraak van president Zelensky bij de @WorldBank. Deze eerste dag van de voorjaarsvergadering stond in het teken van Oekraïne. Nederland staat samen met andere landen pal achter de Oekraïners en biedt op allerlei manieren hulp. Humanitair en financieel.

In Washington voor overleg met de VS over de handel met Nederland. Allereerst een ontmoeting met Nederlandse bedrijven hier - buiten de EU is de VS onze grootste handelspartner. We hebben de kansen besproken voor bedrijven en wat het kabinet kan doen om daarbij te helpen.

Had good meetings with Ministers @nicupopescu and Revenco about #Moldova's extraordinary commitment to hosting Ukrainian refugees.

The war in Ukraine has a big impact on the 🇲🇩 population and economy. 🇳🇱 makes €10 mln available to support Moldova with the reception of refugees.

The Moldovan people have welcomed many refugees from #Ukraine. I experienced this first hand at a refugee centre in Chisinau. But as one of the poorest European countries, Moldova is reaching capacity. The Netherlands is providing support, such as humanitarian aid. 1/2

Vandaag werkbezoek in Moldavië. De gastvrije bevolking vangt veel vluchtelingen uit buurland #Oekraïne op, bijv. in dit opvangcentrum in Chisinau. Maar als een van de armste Europese landen loopt Moldavië tegen zijn grenzen aan. NL steunt op meerdere manieren, zoals met noodhulp.
