RT @Beany_1: So, Zahawi is the new chancellor. Just a few days ago he wrote to the old chancellor asking for a 9% payrise for teachers, so it would be pretty appalling if they didn’t now get that.

I realise there are a few other things people are talking about this evening, but I need to say how very proud I am of my wonderful husband!

RT @EdwardJDavey: A House of Cards built on lies and deceit comes crashing down. Go and go now. You have discredited our great country long enough.

The drama in Downing Street may be a power game for Tory ministers, but the consequences for ordinary people struggling with the cost of living are not a game. The departure of the Chancellor at a time of economic crisis will cost us all via exchange rates and higher inflation.

RT @rorybremner: Don’t panic, everyone. Nadine Dorries, Priti Patel, Jacob Rees Mogg and Dominic Raab staying. We’ve still got the A team in charge.

RT @AdamBienkov: Downing Street first said the Prime Minister wasn't aware of "any allegation" against Chris Pincher, then said he wasn't aware of any "specific allegation" against him. Now we're told the PM wasn't aware of any "serious specific allegation."

RT @Jo_WhiteheadUK: The best thing about living in a Tory safe seat with @LibDems the most likely to take it from them, is that if I help again knocking on doors, I won’t need to defend @UKLabour EU policy to remain voters. Yes it might be clever/strategic/long term. But I’m crap at hiding feelings

RT @Samfr: I'm not saying Boris has quite reached the end yet, but his wife briefing against him is probably not a good sign.

Absolutely extraordinary to listen to BBCR4 discussion on how ministers choose words carefully when responding to Pincher issues. They don’t trust the tales they are told by no. 10, but won’t move against PM. The failure of Cabinet to move against him means all are culpable.

Brexit is bad for Britain, and no plan to “make it work” should be long term policy. Our country and our young people deserve better than this pathetic policy. They deserve a commitment to free movement at least!
