Larry Summers was Chief Economist of the World Bank, President of Harvard University and US Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton. His description of Britain's Brexit economy is so damning it should be a wake-up call for us all.

Just in case anyone was wondering why Truss has made the fossil fuel industry and bankers top priority for handouts, just look at who gave £200k for her leadership campaign. The U.K. is being asset stripped for the super-rich. 🤬🤬🤬

RT @mrjamesob: Superb & shocking journalism. Helpfully encapsulated in this thread. And it hasn’t happened by accident. The media & political machinery dedicated to delivering this inequality (NB in countries where Rupert Murdoch concentrates his power) is immense.

RT @duncan_morrow: This is a staggering statistic: The poorest Irish now have a living standard 63% higher than the poorest in the UK.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/LNethsingha/status/1

RT @jburnmurdoch: The result is that while high-earners in US & UK continue to be very comfortably well off, the poorest in those same societies — perhaps in the very next neighbourhood — are scraping by with living standards that the poor in much less wealthy countries would consider rough.

RT @jburnmurdoch: So instead of those lines being near the top from the poorest to the richest, they’re nice and high for the rich, but much lower for the poor.

Brits and Americans in the bottom 10% have a *far* lower standard of living than the poor in the average developed country.
