RT by @JimAllister: Brexiteer & TUV leader @@JimAllister KC MLA "Unionist elected representatives, who won their seats on the basis of an anti-protocol platform, should not be swayed by an unholy trinity of bribery, blackmail and broadcasters”. newsletter.co.uk/news/politics

Sadly, the same message from HMG in NI as necessary £2.5b being withheld unless unionists roll over and implement the Union-dismantling Protocol.

Given previous DUP leadership pledges that the Protocol must go and EU law must not apply, I’m looking forward to such delivery.

RT by @JimAllister: Jim Allister says any deal between the DUP and Downing Street to restore Stormont needs to change the fundamentals of the Windsor Framework – and warns unionists don’t want a ‘fig leaf’

RT by @JimAllister: The EU has made clear it expects the UK to fully honour its Windsor Framework commitment to EU rights in Northern Ireland – as concerns grow that the government’s Rwanda Bill will result in a ‘people border’ between Northern Ireland and Great Britain

This latest effort from TUV leader Jim Allister, warning against a "sell-out" over Brexit's Northern Ireland Protocol in talks to restore Stormont 👇

RT by @JimAllister: Let’s translate: “if you don’t surrender & implement the Protocol, then we will not say what we already said in the UK Internal Market Act 2020, again”

RT by @JimAllister: Of course it is not nearly enough. The bottom line is NI must not be left under EU law. Recent example of the EU deciding how much state aid our own U.K. gov could give us is outrageous. Every week EU exerts more control over us in NI

No accident, but intended product of trade-diverting Protocol, that the value of goods coming from GB to NI fell by 2.4% in 2022 while the value of goods coming from the Irish Republic into NI rose by 4.8%. Also underlines the greater need is to remove the Sea border, rather than tweaking Internal Trade Act on NI to GB trade. Obstruction of GB to NI trade is the problem.

Tweaking some comfort into the Internal Market Act is but a fig leaf - it will not alter one word of the Protocol or remove the Sea Border or stop the flow and control of EU law - only removal of S7A of EUWA Act 2018 can do that.

Yet another example of NI’s colonial status under EU control. Foreign power has to approve U.K. funding!!!

RT by @JimAllister: Under the Protocol/WF the EU’s state aid rules apply not just to goods but to the entire economy of N Ireland. So the European Commission and the ECJ have ex ante control over such fiscal decision making in N Ireland. Utterly indefensible

Um. So, FM and dFM’s what’s app messages wiped! Might be convenient for dFM given her involvement in mass defiance of Covid rules at funeral of arch terrorist Storey!
