I’ve come to because no party has a monopoly on wisdom. Never been before. Slightly concerned that the framing of the programme is wedded to language of the past-eg ‘how do we grow the UK economy?’ @UKLabour wedded to . n.respublicae.eu/carolinelucas

Disappointed, but not surprised, that my question at about Conservative/ Labour’s backing of yet more fossil fuel extraction at Rosebank is a systemic failure of strategic leadership. We need to invest in good, sustainable energy & home insulation, otherwise we are toast!

You couldn’t get a cigarette paper between @UKLabour and @Conservatives at today. They are both locked in to fossil fuels and woefully lacking in sustainable solutions. They, like fossil fuels, have had their day. Move over. We need a sustainable future

Re @hagleypedant @Channel4 You’re wrong there. I do. Yes, there were serious issues, but at least we, the British public, had a say in making it better. We should take back control and learn the lessons of the past. Other countries have invested in arguably the most efficient & sustainable way of travel!

🧵1/ I’m still railing against The Great Train Robbery documentary last night on @Channel4. 30 years on from selling off British Rail we have: unreliable services, much higher prices, huge underinvestment in the infrastructure as shareholder profit trumps all other considerations

Re 🧵2/ ..who is profiting from our misery? State owned railways in other countries! Voters must never forgive @Conservatives for allowing their free market dogma to take control of our national assets. It’s been an unmitigated disaster here, with utilities & is strangling our NHS

Re @EliseDB @Channel4 Absolutely. I was going to mention that, but most people only view the first tweet. (The law of demolishing returns!)

Yes. This. 💚👇. If it’s not working, fix it. Let’s stop pretending you can make something work that simply isn’t. It never will. It’s ok to admit when you’re wrong. It’s ok to change your mind. Life is too short to go on with this protracted misery.

The clearest, consistent, united and most strategic vision to deliver for the people of the UK is coming from @TheGreenParty. It was the same in Europe, when I was an MEP. All the old parties are too bogged down in either dogma, division or tangled up in corporate interests.
