@dfrancisgreen How many years. It seems to me it started in 2017 and intensified in 2019. Before that the focus was tactical voting rather than telling us not to stand at all. I'm talking about general elections

@CandelandBrian The more of these stories I hear, the more it becomes obvious that Labour's real intention is to crush Greens. Defeating Tories is secondary. If it were their primary objective they would be more strategic and work with us

@chillychrisy @kacidama Do you think those voters just made a mistake? Does it occur to you that they didn't want to vote Labour? Many anti-Corbyn voters here voted Green and were delighted to have an alternative to the Tories

@eastcharle @VixL The fact that a Labour activist told you that doesn't mean that it's true. If they were really worried about getting the Tories out - and a proper democracy - they would support PR

@VixL Tactical voting arguments are as old as FPTP but one party deciding who should have a right to stand in a democracy feels more recent. I don’t think that happened before 2017 and the talk of progressive alliance. Labour used that as a weapon to force us out of the democracy

@GreenAndrew6 @timjenkinson28 @RobBrookes11 @LibDems @Conservatives Hi Andrew

I see that you’re new to the area. The reality in Stroud is that most green voters voted Labour in 2019 while anti-Corbyn and anti-Brexit voters voted for me. The data show that the swing away from Labour was lower here than in other constituencies

More cruelty and incoherence from nasty party

Truss offers exclusion of underrepresented groups and poverty in our regions

Civil service salaries in regions of country help to raise average incomes there, boosting whole local economy

If levelling up isn’t this, what is it?
RT @MrMKimber: BREAKING: Liz Truss says she'll cut £11B from the civil service if elected Prime Minister. She'll cut civil servants' time off from 27 to 2…

Hi @BBCSimonJack

A couple of points:

You don’t seem to know that pension funds are rapidly divesting from fossil fuels

Or that Sunak’s ‘windfall tax’ allows fossil fuel companies to get 90% of it back - to reinvest in fossil fuels!

In a climate emergency people need to know

As Greens, we’ve always been put under pressure through tactical voting

But now Labour Party members are telling us we shouldn’t stand in elections at all

This feels like something new and rather sinister

Do others have similar experiences?

Feels quite Stalinist

🗳 Voting has just opened for Green Party internal elections

💚 Including our deputy leader and GPEX positions

🎉 We all celebrate that we are a democratic party - now is the time to demonstrate that!

🙏 Please vote and share with other party members

RT @AdrianRamsay: Outrageous that a Conservative MP has taken a job with US fossil fuel company. He must be forced to choose between this job and his role as MP.

With climate disruption happening around us, how can the Conservative Party justify Mr Pritchard's second job?

Commentator finds Liz Truss authentic

And thinks Judas Iscariot stabbed Julius Ceasar

Maybe they should invite somebody better informed next time?

RT @euromove: You can say that again.

Just take 5 minutes out of your day and speak to a business owner. Ask them if it is easier of harder now.

The answer is almost always the same. Harder, more inconvenient and more hassle.

Just wow

It’s so clear that our electoral system is not only undemocratic

It’s also trashing our chances of tackling climate and ecological emergencies

.@RishiSunak admits his tax cuts will be funded by increasing growth and being ‘disciplined’ on public spending

So if dismal growth predictions for UK are correct we’re in store for another round of punishing austerity

To allow Tory candidates to please their wealthy membership

Of course @TheGreenParty was there first

But now everybody agrees - even an overwhelming majority of Tory voters

Why don’t we have a massive home insulation programme?

Lobbying and ‘donations’ from fossil sector are the only explanation
RT @ECIU_UK: Poll: 📊

Vast majority of @Conservatives Party members support incentives and investment for homeowners and landlords to improve home insulation and energy use:
