@tesa1945 Our Gov since the 1990s has put us at risk. National security, public safety, community cohesion all threatened by their decision to be v lax with who and how many get to settle here. They barely deport murderers, criminals or bogus asylum seekers.

Re asylum - seems less about international law and more about how each nation interprets it. Japan has interpreted 1951 Refugee Conv with stricter rules on who qualifies esp re evidence. UK v generous interpretation allows maj of ppl in with no proof opening us up to huge abuse.
