As a parent of toddlers this footage breaks my heart.

This lad should be playing with toys or running round a park not working as a chimney sweep breathing in toxic soot.

The 1930s was a cruel time.

Thousands of vehicles are backing up on Kent roads trying to get to the ports. It's because red tape means each vehicle takes longer.

Is @trussliz going to tell us she made a trade deal with NZ and these lorries and cars should divert there?

Not my party but it's always good to see a politician who thinks learning and having expertise relevant to your portfolio us important.

@David_Evershed @SAThevoz ..Choices at a local level too. I started school in Bristol age 4. Moved to Kent in 89 aged 9. My new Kent friends had only started school at 5 and Kent's per pupil funding was less. Those were political decisions by the councils in the two areas in question.

@David_Evershed @SAThevoz ..After 97 funding got better (as LDs had suggested during 90s, viz 1p on income tax for education) and teacher training, class sizes, buildings improved somewhat. These were political choices..

@David_Evershed @SAThevoz .. But 80s and 90s also saw big class sizes, Buildings that were decrepit or primitive (I remember leaky mobiles and a gym ceiling literally falling on us). 30+pupils to one teacher...

@David_Evershed @SAThevoz Not sure I can agree with you David. I was at school 84-98. Some teaching was good, some not. My friends who are teachers now say, looking back, they feel the same with the benefit of their professional skills to appraise it...

RT @SAThevoz: Liz Truss opened on her childhood, saying she was inspired to go into politics by "lots of children being let down by low educational standards".

Truss (b.1975) was entirely educated under Conservative governments, from primary school to university (1979-96).🤨

@timfarron @LibDemDavid @e_casalicchio Appalling, not least when you consider the extensive parliamentary scrutiny that EU trade deals go through before ratification (or before refusal). Brexit is an democratic joke.

RT @LibDems: These Conservative MPs are trying to take the British public for fools.

You can’t hike taxes on businesses and families then suddenly change your tune to win a leadership contest.

What an utter farce.

RT @favershamfocus: @margarethodge Why do UK politicians address each other by their first names, even when writing a letter as serious as this one?

It's not something they do in the EU or US politics, or in most walks of life in the UK.

Our country is about to be free of a 'leader' who has done immense harm. Hopefully soon we'll be free of those Conservative politicians who have aided and abetted him at every step.
