@_erica_lewis Hi Erica - this is a call for councils outside of London to have the same power as London authorities already have, resulting in a defacto default ban to set pavement parking as the expectation and not the rule. Local authorities can then make exceptions using TROs where needed.

The G20 meeting being held in Kashmir, following the human rights violations by the Indian Government, is of serious concern.

Today, I'm presenting my petition in the House of Commons to stop pavement parking.

Pavement parking is not only an issue for those with disabilities or young children, but encourages speeding and reckless driving in neighbourhoods. It's time the Government takes action.

On Sunday, I attended a civic service at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral to mark the election of Yasmine Dar as the first Muslim and Asian woman to be Lord Mayor of Manchester.

As Manchester's first Muslim Lord Mayor, I was proud to see yet another glass ceiling broken!
