South Africa accuses Israel of genocide and files a motion with the International Court of Justice.
This is completely absurd. Israel is not the aggressor in the current conflict in Gaza. Clear aggressor is the terrorist organisation Hamas, which invaded Israel on October 7th and they murdered, raped and tortured innocent Israeli citizens. It was one of the biggest terrorist attacks in recent history, leaving behind a killing spree with over 1100 deaths. And hundreds more were kidnaped and abducted to Gaza.
Certainly no one is happy about the current situation in Gaza - armed conflicts are always gruesome and it is in everyone's interest that Hamas surrenders and the fighting ends. And that there are civilians casualties in Gaza is fully the responsibility of Hamas. They are cynically using their own population as human shields, and cowardly hide behind them.
We must strongly reject the absurd accusations of genocide by South Africa. Israel is defending itself within its right to self-defence and bringing those who attacked it 3 months ago to justice.
