Putin's goal was - and still is - to divide and conquer. The Kremlin has not achieved any of its objectives. On the contrary, the EU has demonstrated a coherence and determination rarely seen before.

If anything, the last year taught us that economic ties did not lead to a Russian rapprochement with the democratic West. This idea turned out to be an illusion. Diplomatic ties with 🇷🇺 remain at the bare minimum until Putin has fully withdrawn from the recognised territory of 🇺🇦
