That women in EU - our sisters, mothers, daughters - still don’t receive equal pay for equal work is a disgrace!
We can’t wait any further. Today we will vote for binding rules on pay transparency to close the gender pay gap.

Today is an historic day - S&D’s long-standing demand for pay transparency is now becoming a reality.
After many years of negotiations, this directive will change people’s lives, finally closing the gender pay gap.

Equal pay for equal work - a principle of our Union, since 1957 in our treaties. Now it’s time for legislation.
With this directive we did something for all women. We managed to strengthen individual and trade union rights.
It will work for all women of Europe.
