We have to be clear: Russia uses food as a weapon of war.
The urgency now is to address the growing crisis of energy, nutrition and inflation. The EU is playing it’s part.
Once again it is Russia’s aggression against Ukraine that is the main cause of this global multicrisis.

Inevitable international competition prevents the global cooperation we badly need.
We have to avoid that the gap between North and South and East and West grows further.
The EU plays a constructive role to do just that, hand in hand with our partners around the world.

1. We have helped to arm a country under attack defend itself.
2. We are ending our energy dependence on Russia.
3. We have confirmed Ukraine’s EU path, granting candidate status. This will change the political map of Europe
