We need to keep EU citizens at the heart of our resilience efforts; to protect their lives as well as to engage and prepare them when disasters strike.
Voluntary organisations, citizens working for citizens, have a special role in building resilience against various crises.

Voluntary associations of 🇪🇺 citizens provide valuable response capacities in the face of ever more frequent natural disasters caused by climate change, as well as other crises. We will hence continue supporting voluntary participation in civil protection and disaster management.
