I am in talks at the moment to introduce increased restrictions and monitoring, including CCTV, on large trawlers like this.
I had hoped we would finish negotiations last week but some issues remain outstanding. 1/2

The issue of ‘Margins of Tolerance’ has stalled negotiations, with some calling for loosening of regulations for reporting catches by millions of tonnes potentially.
I can’t allow that.
