It was formed as a result of the impact of a meteorite🌠 which struck the area ~215 million years ago and is approx. 75km
On 12 January #Copernicus #Sentinel2 🛰️🇪🇺 acquired this snowy image of the lake

@CopernicusEU Any idea why the snow/ice appears darker on the eastern lake? Maybe fog or clouds catching the oblique sunlight? Or local dust blown in to the ice? @weather.gc.ca
